As we all know, water is a universal solvent. It is recommended that we drink at least 6 to 8 glasses of water everyday. Insufficient water intake can cause constipation and bowel or kidney toxicity.  If you are into physical activities or suffering from fever, hot climate and have a high consumption rate of salty foods and meat, then you need to increase your water intake. The formula for water therapy is to know your weight and drink an ample amount of water that’s equal to half of your weight in fluid ounces. For example your weight is 100 lbs. or 45 kilograms, drink 50 ounces of water (7 glasses or less than 2 liters) per day. Herb tea, fruit juices and pure water can be included in your daily counts of water intake. Caffeinated drinks such as sodas and coffee are not counted.

Water can best be taken in between meals or 20 minutes before eating. When you’re thirsty, it is better to drink water than soda or other beverages. It is equally important to cleanse and nourish our bodies. Keeping our colon rebuilds our cells and keeps the tissue clean. Colon cleansing diet is good start in nourishing our bodies and keeping them healthy.    Green food contains chlorophyll which is necessary in colon cleansing. It also heals and soothes damaged tissues. Because of this, chlorophyll is called “intestinal deodorant.” High chlorophyll foods can be found in wheatgrass, alfalfa, spirulina, barley grass and blue-green algae.

Proper intake of water and green foods is a great assurance that we are not allowing bad bacteria to damage our digestive tracts and will be a good start of performing a colon cleansing diet.
